My Review:

I give Storm & Shadows ⭐⭐⭐!

This book had so much action, which I love when reading fantasy. The plot moved along nicely and the characters were interesting and compelling. My favorite character is Raven, who is the villain, but she's one of those villains you kind of hate but also love. The author also does a wonderful job giving each character a unique voice so even without any indicator of who's speaking you know it's Kari, Ari, or Raven. I loved the plot as well as the dynamics between all the characters.

This is the second book in the series and I haven't read the first. So when I began the book I was very confused as to what was happening. I wish the author would of thread some clues throughout so I knew why a character felt this way or why Kari set fire to the village. Finally, there weren't many descriptions of the world either. Often, I felt as though the characters were speaking and fighting in a vacuum or I thought the characters were at a tavern to find out later in the chapter, it was someone's home.

Overall, this is a fun read with rare and fascinating characters. I do plan to read the first book because I'm curious about who Kari is and how she met Ari.
