My Review:

⭐⭐⭐⭐

Reflections on the Boulevard is the sequel to the heartwarming novel A Reservoir Man. This book explores the endearing mentor and protégé relationship between Ron and Michael, reminiscent of the touching dynamic found in the 1992 film, Scent of a Woman. As I delved into the story, I was drawn to the delightful sweetness that infused their connection, making it truly special. The author's writing style initially puzzled me, but it didn't take long for me to discover that it bore a striking resemblance to a screenplay, which perfectly aligned with the author's extensive career in theater.

Both Ron and Michael have faced their fair share of hardships, each carrying scars of their own. However, Michael's unwavering optimism and Ron's endearing naivete serve as the perfect counterbalance, infusing their relationship with a lightness that is both refreshing and comforting. Although Ron occasionally appeared younger than his years, his presence provided a pleasant contrast to Michael's jaded look of the world.

The road trips in this book are so quintessential and pretty much define the whole story. It's like taking a road trip with your younger self, capturing the essence of that experience. This road trip becomes a journey to discover America, uncover the true meaning of life, and embark on a path of self-discovery. It's a road trip that touches the souls of both travelers.

I feel this book was stronger and more impactful than the first book. Thoughtfully and skillfully written, this book is a must-read for the LGBTQ+ community.

Thank you, Louis L. Ambrosio and Goddess Fish Promotion for giving me the opportunity to read the book and provide my honest review.
