Synopsis:

For fans of Sarah J. Maas and Holly Black, The Forest King’s Daughter is an enemies-to-forbidden-lovers romance from the New York Times bestselling author of Frostblood.

Once upon a time, among the bloodred trees of Thirstwood, a young forest princess became friends with a lonely demon boy. He gifted her an amber ring, a worthless trinket…or so he thought…because no sooner did he slide it onto her finger than the demon queen and forest king declared war.

Years later, Cassia is a crucial force in her father’s army, wielding her ring of light that can blind and disorient hundreds of demons at a time. Then battle-hardened Zeru abducts her, planning to steal the ring back to fix his costly childhood mistake. Exhausted, terrified, and more than a little mistrusting, Cassia is forced to travel with Zeru to a place they both believed only existed in storybooks, one where their childhood friendship slowly rekindles into something much more. But it’s only a matter of time before the war they’ve escaped comes for them, and a hidden threat to forest folk and demons alike grows in the shadows.

From the author of the Frostblood Saga comes the first book in an enchanting, adventure-filled fantasy series about the daughters of the powerful forest king, sure to leave readers breathless and desperate for more.

15 Reactions While Reading The Forest King’s Daughter by Elly Blake

1️⃣ "Omg, childhood friends to enemies to… what??" – The opening hits hard. A simple ring gift leading to war? I’m hooked already.

2️⃣ "Thirstwood sounds both beautiful and terrifying." – Bloodred trees? Creepy yet stunning. The world-building is already top-tier.

3️⃣ "Zeru, what have you done?!" – I feel bad for him, but stealing the ring after all these years? Bold move, sir.

4️⃣ "Cassia is a QUEEN (okay, princess, but still)." – She’s such a strong, fierce fighter. I love a battle-hardened heroine.

5️⃣ "The forbidden love tension is EVERYTHING." – Every stolen glance, every hesitant moment. The slow burn is killing me (in the best way).

6️⃣ "Wait… am I supposed to like the demons now?" – The whole who's-good-who's-evil paradox is messing with my head, and I love it.

7️⃣ "Oh, the forced proximity trope. Bless." – Nothing like being kidnapped and forced to travel together to spark some rekindled feelings.

8️⃣ "The forest descriptions are pure magic." – I can see this world in my head. The writing is just that vivid.

9️⃣ "This amber ring is way more than a trinket, isn't it?" – I just KNOW there’s a bigger mystery behind this.

🔟 "Why does the demon queen scare me more than the forest king?" – Something about her feels… off.

1️⃣1️⃣ "Zeru’s past is breaking my heart." – The guilt, the regret, the pain. He’s so much more than just an enemy.

1️⃣2️⃣ "The stakes just keep getting higher!" – Every time I think they’re safe, BOOM—new danger, new twist.

1️⃣3️⃣ "Okay, but I NEED more Sylvan and Dracukind lore." – This world is so rich, and I have a million questions.

1️⃣4️⃣ "How am I supposed to wait for the next book?!" – I can already tell this is going to leave me desperate for more.

1️⃣5️⃣ "That ending. That. Ending." – I’m ruined. Utterly ruined. Send help (and book two ASAP).

🌿🔥 If you love Romeo and Juliet vibes, forbidden love, and breathtaking world-building, this book is a MUST-READ.
